Koto-ku

Koto Ward seamlessly blends the traditional downtown charm of areas like Monzennakacho and Kameido with the modern, redeveloped waterfront districts of Ariake and Odaiba. Flanked by the Sumida and Arakawa Rivers, the area has long been characterized by its numerous rivers and canals. It is also home to many historic shrines and temples, including Tomioka Hachiman Shrine and Kameido Tenjin Shrine. Additionally, the world-famous Toyosu Market, often referred to as the "Kitchen of the World," is a major attraction for both domestic and international visitors.


江戸時代から続く下町風情の残る門前仲町や亀戸などの市街地と、新たな開発を経て出来上がった有明や青梅などの臨海地域に分かれています。隅田川や荒川に挟まれているため昔から河川や運河が多く、富岡八幡宮、亀戸天神など神社や仏閣も多く残る街です。“世界の台所”「豊洲市場」は国内外の観光客に特に人気のスポットです。
