Here we introduce member establishments of the Tokyo Cuisine Consumer Cooperative of Taito Ward, Tokyo. The Asakusa and Ueno area Taito Ward is popular with foreign as well as Japanese tourists. It can be roughly divided into two area.
■Asakusa: This place is one of Japan’s foremost sightseeing areas, drawing tourists from around the world. One of Tokyo’s most popular spots, Asakusa is bustling with visitors from around Japan and their countries, specifically the Asakusa neighborhood and Kappabashi Tool Street. Experience all the Edo Period nostalgia that this area has to offer!
■Ueno: The Ameyoko Shopping Street (known simply as “Ameyoko”), is home to roughly 400 shops crowded together, offering clothing, food and beverages, as well as various and sundry miscellaneous items. It also boasts art and other kinds of museums, traditional storytelling theaters, zoos, and more, drawing crowds of people on weekends and holidays. This is a tremendously popular sightseeing spot for foreign tourists as well.
